About Us
Where we started.
We started out with one simple mission; to provide the highest quality training for the working members of the Carpenters' Local 93. This training took place at various rented locations in the St.Laurent Blvd area until 2007 when we built our first Training Centre in Gloucester. This building helped us to increase the quality and capacity of our training of training to further meet the needs of the Carpenters Union and its members.
Where we are.
In 2017, construction was completed on our new Training Centre in Kanata. At about this time we realized the need for more recruitment and outreach efforts in our community, and with our expanded space this was something we could offer. Along with delivering essential training to our members, we began training OYAP and SHSM high school students that were preparing for a career in the skilled trades. This led to more pre-employment opportunities being delivered in our space such as our WIN IT Program, Construction Essentials and Tomorrows Trades.
Where we are going.
The Carpenters Union Training Centre Pre- Apprenticeship is the next step in our organizations history. In the next decade we will face an unprecedented shortage of workers in our craft. It is critical that we train individuals before they begin as an apprentice so that they can have the confidence and skills to work in this industry. Our top priority is for everyone that trains with us to have a long and successful career as a Carpenter.
